Am I able to use a visual task board on a service portal

I am using Madrid and have a request for adding a Visual Task Board to display high level information from the Agile module.

Is this possible?  I haven't gotten to far in my research and what I've found is 2-years old and says that this is not possible.  But since it has been 2 years I need to ask the question again to see what is achievable for this type of request.

Right now I am not certain that the intended audience will have ability (roles) to see the VTB in question.  But I am trying to save my developers from doing things that don't have configurable widgets and if my users have a role in the system to get this I would rather they use a homepage and/or interactive dashboards.

@davematz  - did you ever find a solution to this? I am being asked to do a similar task I think.  Basically display a VTB to end users to show where are projects are in the lifecycle.  Thanks!

we have pushed back on the requirement because there is so much in the environment I've inherited that needs a big clean up on roles and i don't want to solution something that will be messy to maintain and tossed once the roles are cleaned up and assigned to groups so we are customizing everything that gets submitted for DEV
