Archiving Related Attachments for Incidents

I've tried searching answer for my question in the community. Though there are some posts regarding the archiving, I couldn't find a specific answer on archiving attachments. Kindly help with my query if someone have already completed the archiving for attachments or know the answer.

We've started the archiving for Incident table. Added the related tables like SLA's, Attached knowledge, etc. Archiving worked perfectly fine. We are able to restore the records fine. While restoring the Incident, it restored the related records as well. However, it did not work the same way for attachments. Though the archival worked fine for attachments, while restoring the incident, the related attachments not restored. So, we tried to restore it individually and it just downloads the file. Since there is no documentation on the archiving, would like to know if this is how the archiving works for the attachments. Please help!!

Up to my knowledge, restoring the attachments should be taken care of automatically when the respective record is restored.

How are you restoring it manually?

Also, can you provide steps that you are following to restore the record and related tables

Thank you for your response, dvp.

I was trying to restore the record from the related link highlighted. While clicking this link, it downloads the file to my local desktop

From a HI response, I understood that restoring the attachment from archive log restores without downloading a local copy

Here is the screenshot for the same

However, still I do not understand why restoring an incident is not restoring the related attachments or any other related records.

Thank you again for taking efforts in answering my query

OOB functionality do not automatically restore the related records like an incident task when the Incident is restored.

Do you have a custom script to download the files when the restored record related link is clicked?
