Using "Set Variable Values" I'm trying to set a Catalog Item variable dynamically to a Change Record that was successfully created in a previous Test Step. If I hard-code the Change Record variable to an existing record the test runs as desired. However, when trying to set the catalog variable to a reference the test fails with the following:
FAILURE: Failed to set field 'Associated Change Control Number' to value '{{step['adf6f2c24f746b0431a28b8d0210c79b'].first_record}}' because the reference is NOT valid.
Ideas?
Here's how I'm setting the variable...

Unfortunately we are on New York Patch 3 and are also having this issue.
For example, we do a Record Query of the group table, which finds at least one record and passes, but when we try to set that value to a catalog variable (in the Service Portal), we see this in our test client and the catalog item fails to submit:
Did anyone find a resolution?
Thanks,

Here's the solution we accepted from HI on this:
I have confirmed this behavior is addressed in PRB1240363 and have associated this incident with the PRB. This has been fixed in London, and Kingston Patch 8. I have confirmed the Automated Test Framework handles variables that reference other tables correctly on my test London instance. Unfortunately, I have not been able to devise a workaround for Jakarta Patch 9c at ths time except for upgrading the instance to Kingston Patch 8 or London. The following fix target for PRB1240363 has been released: * London * Kingston Patch 8
