Likely i've got some setting turned off or something but i'm failing to be able to attach a file to a catalog item definition so that it is accessible to user viewing the portal (or the backend for that matter).
On the catalog item definition form there is an attachment button (paperclip) but attaching to that doesnt come across to the catalog item in the catalog or service portal.
i realize i could put in a link to a file housed externally but assumed that by now this would be OOB functionality and thus my confusion. Documentation is unclear as well, from the catalog creation docs, it implies that attachments are available and links to "Add Attachment documentation" but i found no answer there.
Thanks in advance for filling me in as to the status of this topic.

Hi,
Please follow this link for instructions: https://community.servicenow.com/community?id=community_question&sys_id=25b447e9dbd8dbc01dcaf3231f96...
-Basically, you would use paperclip to attach document to the catalog item.
-Then in description, you would click link icon, then type of: Attachment
