Can a flow designer flow be used for multiple catalog items?

Nic Nagtzaam

We are currently reviewing our existing workflows that are sitting within the legacy workflow engine to determine which of our workflows can be migrated to Flow Designer. My question is can a Flow Designer flow cater to being used by multiple catalog items, e.g. different pieces of software and/or hardware?

Yes, you can Re use same flow for multiple catalog items.

In the trigger condition select as service catalog and update the flow field in which you want to use the flow .

Mark correct, if it helps.

Hi,

Short answer is Yes, but it depend whether all those Catalog items has a similar process which it is going to follow or not.

If they are different, I will suggest it is better to create New flow and not over complicate it by making it dynamic for different items.

There is a option to copy your flow as well, so you need to create it once and then keep on copying for other items just to have it separate and make change in them accordingly as shown below;

Hi there,

Completely depends on your design. Just similar like Workflow. If you create a Flow which is generic enough, uses inputs, etc. you could potentially use it for tens or hundreds of Catalog Items.

If my answer helped you in any way, please then mark it as helpful.

Kind regards,
Mark
