I am looking for Configuration Item attributes available OOTB and their associated definitions. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks.

Hi Mike,

Hopefully this will help you out. The CI Class Manager, found under Configuration, lists all the OOB CI types with their associated attributes. It doesn't have a tremendous amount of depth regarding definitions, but they are self-explanatory for the most part.

If you need any assistance with implementing your CMDB or Discovery, keep in touch. We're always happy to help SNOW Customers on their journey to achieve more with their platform with OOB module implementations as well as our best practices and methodologies above and beyond OOB.

Hello,

Paris version - I can't locate the Configuration app at all - can you help me in identifying why?  I did find Asset & Configuration - however it does not have the modules referenced in a lot of the CMDB doc.

What I am trying to accomplish is to stand up, in Dev, a service status page for our services.  I'm not sure I have all the items (IE: plugins, applications, relationships (for outages, etc), etc) needed as I could not locate a document guiding me through.

Guidance is appreciated.

Hi, I have searched in the entire Documentation and I haven´t found anything. Is there any White Paper or official document of ServiceNow with this information?

We struggle with this all the time too. I would love to have the definitions of each available attribute so we know that we are using attributes appropriately or an attribute exists OOB instead of creating custom ones. If we don't have a definition of an attribute we make an assumption and define it ourselves. For instance, what is the difference between support group and assignment group on a CI? We have applications and other CIs that are owned by one group but supported by another, so we are trying to figure out if we are using these fields correctly, are we populating them with the appropriate information to help drive other processes.

Here is a starting list that is provided by ServiceNow but still may have gaps because not everything is defined:
