Clean the demo and test data prior to Go Live

Hi everybody

I am hoping to find a clear procedure to remove any transnational data (so Incidents, Problems, Requests, Changes, Tasks...and I'm sure a number of others) from the instance.

For example, when we are about to Go Live, how do I efficiently remove all the demo data AND also any data created in Pre Production Build & UAT,

I thought this would have been a rather fundamental part of the process, but I can't seem to find anything on Communities, wiki or Support.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Darren,

I would suggest to delete the data manually from listed module(im,pm,cm,etc). or you can reach out to servicenow for data cleanup they would assist you in that. Because express edition has very limited scope of such system functionality.

Hi Darren,

Since you mentioned that you are just about to go live now, shouldn't your tables be blank, no record at all.

If you want to do that , you can achieve it by a single click.

Hi Anurag

Why would all my transactional tables be empty just prior to Go Live.   I have been configuring and testing the system, and now am getting ready to go live so need to remove ....

        a. Demo Data that came with the instance;

        b. Test data that I have entered during testing.

Whats this one click you refer to?

Thanks

Darren

so basically you can just empty any table in SN, but that deletes all records not selective. i guess you cant use that ehre.

Hi Darren,

I feel that there would be limited module on which testing ticket would have been created so if you want to delete the records.

You can delete from system definition > Table & Column > Select appropriate table and delete all data on that table.

As per my experience i did the same.

Hope that helps.

Thanks Atul .

This solution would be great.

However, I did forget to mention this is an Express Instance which does not have System Definition abilities.

Thanks
