WAP is wireless access point.

Firewalls and Hubs are, in my opinion, akin to your switch, router, etc., configuration, as they are their own devices used for their own purposes.   You could maybe put firewalls under a security heading with ASAs and PIXes and stuff like that.

WAP is Wireless Access Point.

I see what you're doing here and it looks clean enough. As for the sub-bullets, are you creating those as their own class? Or simply an attribute to the top level class/bullet point?

Network Appliance -> Security Service - is this actually a business service? Just trying to understand what this is.

Same with Network Authentication Service. Is this actually a user-facing business service?

Sub-bullets are network components owned our company, they shall all belong to same class as indicated on top as CMDB classification like Communication Device is OOB cmdb class.

Communication Device

  • Wireless Controller
  • Phone-VoIP
  • Phone-Other

I will follow up with our network group to understand Network Appliance and Network Authentication Service

I think the Load Balancer can be a bit tricky as the load balancing function itself can be performed by a piece of load balancing hardware, or it's a functionality of a router. You also need to think of how these CIs are going to be used in Incident, Change, Problem or Service Request.
