Content Items not displaying in Service Portal

Hello All,

My team and I are configuring the Service Portal right now and it hasn't been a very pleasant experience. One issue is that the Content Items within the Catalogs do not display in the Service Portal. Does anyone know a work around so the content items can be utilized?

Appreciate any help!

Team - I think I have found a solution to the service portal not liking Wizards but would like your thoughts

What I did:

  • Wizards are already created so no work required here:
  • I created a content item that appears in the service catalog

  • Content Type: External Content
  • Target: Within Catalog
  • URL: to get this I went to the service catalog in the ITIL view

  • I then go to the wizard as it appears here
  • Right Click and select "Copy Shortcut"

  • I put this shortcut in the Content Type as the URL
  • Now - when users go to the portal they can select the Content link that goes to the wizard

  • And they open the wizard in a new page which they can use

I tested this with a non-itil user and it worked. Unsure if it would work if the portal was open to the public but in our environment all users have access so not an issue.

Thoughts?

Hi, there is also a field on Catalog Items and Content Items that is called "Hide on Service Portal" (field name: hide_sp).

It is not visible on the form but you can display it in the list and check if it is set to true.
