We are interested in hearing from those that have started/completed their journey towards an overarching “workflow/process” that incorporates APM/SPM/ITOM/ITAM and the areas of the platform that reply on data from those modules. We are considering writing a workflow that would use tasks, SLAs, approvals, etc. to track the activity of a request from tip to tail starting at procurement, governance processes, APM, SAM/HAM, CMDB to decommission of an asset and allow those involved in the process to be able to see the progress.
Items we are discussing include:
- When is it appropriate to request data elements needed downstream?
- How does this tie into procurement (not the module but the process)?
- How do you get buy-in from requestors to provide data that to them seems insignificant but is critical to our processes?
- How do you minimize asking for the same data more than once
