Discovered CI Classified - not added to CMDB_CI

Few issues, Post discovering IP Ranges, 60% coming back with valid classification and 40% stuck "Active, couldn't classify" for the devices like as an IP Switch/Router/Server/Printer 

1. When taking one of the riverbed appliance and working through the "discovery scheduler",  Originally Device didnt had any classification or CMDB_CI,  added process of creating OID classification based on ecc_queue payload, post re-run now classification is working and riverbed appliance is set as Network Hardware Appliance" , But not identified as CI "CMDB_CI" is Empty on the devices post discovery , Classification is NOW set to "Network Appliance Hardware" post OID Configurations.

Apart from OID configuration am i please request if anything else missing to get the device identified as CMDB_CI.

 

2. How to reload OID for 40% of data missed to the OID - Any easier way?  Step 1 - testing one device which is having "Active, couldnt classify"

3.  Had call with ServiceNow - no resolution yet.. details has been explained.

Kindly let me know your thoughts?  Its critical to be done over the weekend.

Hello rksoft. 

Active couldn't classify can happen when there is an authentication error, also my guess is these devices are either not sending all the information back due to bad SNMP config on the device. if you have the sys OID configured for all the devices -- we are good with that. May be you can check with the network team get the SNMP reconfigured again and test the connection from the failing device to the MID server. Complete these basic check and most of the errors could get rectified at this point. 

Also, recheck the failing devices with the network support if they have a different OID that they could configure. 

An article with this type of issue not necessarily the type of device that you are using but would give u a direction.
