We had configured the SMTP mailbox, with connection security as "START TLS". The same was working for the past few months perfectly until 30-May-2020. Since 30-May-2020, the connection between ServiceNow and SMTP server fails, and throws a message similar to the below.
Email sender connection invalid.: Cannot connect to SMTP server: mail103.xzy.com, as: SPPSEHBG, message: Could not convert socket to TLS, cause: java.security.cert.CertificateExpiredException: NotAfter: Sat May 30 03:48:38 PDT 2020
My gut feeling is that the issue is not at the ServiceNow end, but need insights, so that I can inform the other team in fixing this, as they come back stating that the issue is on the ServiceNow end.
Any help in this regard is highly appreciated.
