Hi There,
Our HRSC has expressed interest in being able to use a rich text editor in the Comments box in HR Workspace. This stems mostly from being able to properly use hyperlinks to Knowledge Articles but also for bolding steps for instructions back to the requester. I've done some research and looks like it could be done: Solved: Link and Rich Text in Compose/comments agent works... - ServiceNow Community
Will there be a problem with performance when this property is enabled?
How will other modules react to this change like Portal, Notifications etc. ?
Appreciate any feedback!
Thanks,

Based on what I'm finding, it doesn't seem recommended, and I can attest to some of the drawbacks described in the links below.

Hey @Dharma Liyanage ,
we enabled this functionality with our last customer using HRSD, ITSM, CSM and ITOM.
I can definitely confirm the message of this KB article: KB0952898 - Performance impact of enabling system property 'glide.ui.journal.use_html' when using ot...
The performance impact was - if it even was there - unnoticeable.
Only thing you need to keep in mind are interfaces.
If you are using an API they are most likely to expect plain text instead of receiving HTML formatted comments and therefore won't interpret html tags.
Besides this, everything else works just fine with glide.ui.journal.use_html set to true.
Cheers
Oli
