How can I maintain formatting when importing MSword docs for templates or KB articles?

I'm in the process of developing a demonstration for my team. I've been trying to develop a simple way we can take our MSword documents and convert/upload them as knowledge base articles. However, when I import or upload my MSdocs, the formatting goes out the window. All my images are intact, but that's it. My tables, font sizes, and charts are all dramatically changed. When I try to adjust the imported document, the ServiceNow editor is very finicky. I cannot make the adjustments as easily as I could in word.

I've tried converting my documents to HTML with only more issues and less functionality. Does anyone have a method that will hold my formatting for using as a template or to upload as a KBA from MSword?

*To those with a live ServiceNow KBA Database, how are you   doing it? What's your preferred method of article ingest?

Hi Che,

Your best bet is using HTML, since it's universal, but the MS Word HTML is ugly. There are a lot of tools and apps out there to clean up your HTML, or you can write you own. Do a Google search for "ms word clean html" for some ideas.

Hi Ken, I tried using multiple ms word clean html application and services. None of which retained the original layout. The main place you can see formatting errors is with tables. If there is any assistance you can give me it would be greatly appreciated.

Same issues here. I'd like the Knowledge editor to just keep the font and font sizes we use in our Templates, but everything is the same font size. I'd like to have our Templates copied into Word docs so our Techs can create content offline and do an easy upload, but it's not helpful if formatting doesn't get converted over the way we would like.
