How to hide Article Category from Service Portal (Users can view article from URL only)

Requirement is to hide a kb article category from the knowledge base category picker (Widget Name: knowledge Field Facet) on the portal (attached the Image for your reference). 

The category should be hidden on portal, but users should have the ability to create KB articles for that the category from the Native view and portal users should be able to view the articles using KB article URL only.

You can simply hide the KB category by making it inactive .

We don't want to inactive the category as I mentioned above "users should have the ability to create KB articles for that the category from the Native view and portal users should be able to view the articles using KB article URL only".
