How to knowledge nav-ons work?

I have a few active knowledge nav-ons including Microsoft and Google. How do these work?


When I type "Microsoft Word" in the knowledge search bar I'd expect a lot of results if it's searching Microsoft. I don't see a way on the knowledge page to determine what I want to search with.

We are running Helsinki,

I have added few add ons but seems like we can't see them anywhere in the Knowledge either in Self Service or Service Desk etc.


May be deprecated as mguy says.

I'm in a developer instance of Kingston and there are Knowledge Nav-ons so they aren't gone gone. Maybe they decided to add them back?

Also loooking at that, but not able to find any documentation of how to use this functionality 😞

this is documented for the Kingston release here: Automatic changes after KMv3 migration and for Jakarta here: Automatic changes after KMv3 migration . The keyword is still "legacy". This functionality remains available if you use the legacy Knowledge home "kb_home.do" instead of the newer "$knowledge.do".
