In Performance Analytics - why does Show Live Data not update the widget?

I'm looking at the OOB "Number of open incidents" indicator that is used by quite a few widgets. This has the checkbox "Show real-time score" checked.

However, when I go to the OOB PA dashboards, it's not showing me anything for today (see screen shot).

I ran this today. It's 2/16 and I ran the historic and daily collector job today. The time frame still ends on the 14th - it does not show any data for today.

Why do the line-type widgets not show all the way through today since it's supposed to show live data?

You can select Show real-time updates on single score widgets that use the average aggregation, but they will not update in real time. Only single score widgets that use the count aggregation can update in real time. Enable real-time updating for single score report widgets

I thought that was the case but I wanted to get a second opinion. My requirement was getting a duration line graph to display live data but it looks like PA isn't quite there yet.
