Inbound Emails to assign user to guest if it is not from a trusted domain

Hello all,

 

I am new to ServiceNow and I am taking over administration of our company's instance. Right now, there is no one internally anymore that originally set this up.

 

Currently, we are allowing any incoming domains to create a new user if one is not already made. With that said, this is what I would like to do:

- When a user emails in, if they are in the trusted domain list, I would like the user and caller to be assigned to their user.

- If they are not in the trusted domain list, I would like the user to be assigned to 'Guest' and the caller field to be filled in with their email address that they emailed in with.

 

I have been searching for the best way to do this, but I cannot get a clear answer on the best way. Any suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated.

If i am not wrong this functionality available OOTB. You can check the domain in email properties and there you will get option to create user.

Thank you for the response!

From what I understand, if I set it up through email properties, it is going to automatically reject anything not in a trusted domain. Instead, I would like to assign a guest user to anything outside of those trusted domains, so the instance is not automatically making users, but also not rejecting everything.
