Issue after Clone - lost some records that weren't backed up properly

We recently had a clone in one of our instances called Test instance, and in that instance were a few Automated Test cases(ATF) that were to be moved to next Stage instance, after clone they were gone as they weren't backed up properly. Only the backup of the ATF records was taken but not the ATF test steps inside so after the backed up xml was uploaded the records came back but not the test steps inside.  is there any way that we can get those lost test steps of all the backed up ATF records.

Sorry you can't.

Although, If you have same ATF Test in another instance you can move it to your clone instance.

Hi there,

 

There's no way to get them back if you didn't export it or didn't put it on a higher instance.

 

What you can do, is raise a ServiceNow Support Case requesting a temporary instance with a backup placed on it so you can retrieve that data from the backup.

I see most of the people face this issue. But unfortunately we don't have any option other than taking a backup
