Moving an existing MID Server to a New Windows Domain..............

If an existing MID server is moved to a new windows domain but retaining the same instance configuration and login credentials will the new hostname, IP address /network and Windows domain information on the instance update reflecting the new domain automatically when the MID server comes back up?   Questioning if anything 'special' needs to be done.

Thanks.

I would not expect any troubles with the mid server configuration given the authentication between the mid server and servicenow is done so with your instance credentials, and no credentials on the domain/server you are on. You WILL need to check your service and what credentials it is running as. If your service is running as Local System, you are good. Otherwise, you will need to update the service to run in the new domain.

Thank you.

We did have to run setup again on the mid servers and re validate for the new domain to be recognized.   We also update the Services login ID with the needed admin ID for that Domain.

Thanks Again.

Richard,

My organization is doing a similar move of the Windows servers to a new domain & IP addresses.
Did you have to do any uninstall or the like (other than stopping the service) of the your existing MID server prior to re-running the setup? information

Thanks for any information you can add.

Hi Dan,

No uninstalls were done, we just re-ran the setup on the mid server and then did the validation on the instance, the new domain/IP address were then recognized and we were good to go.

Thanks!
