Remove attachment from the UI of a catalog item

Looking for a way to remove an attachment from a service catalog item when a varaible changes.

I have an AJAX call removing the uploaded files from the back end.   This does not, as expected, update the WebUI to show the attachments were removed.  If there a way to show on the WebUI the attachments were removed?
