Using Okta integration and local instance login

Our company is looking to employ OKTA for the setup and management of a certain group of users.  Other users we would not like to include in OKTA and we would not even want them to be aware of OKTA.

Currently the users that would be included in the OKTA integration login through the url: www.instance.service-now.com/login.do.

The users we do not want logging in through OKTA use another url path they are provided, which takes them to our service portal.

Has anyone set up a similar arrangement before?  Would this involve installing the Multi-Provider SSO Plugin?

Thanks,

Kyle

Kyle,

Yes, this would be accommodated by using the Multi-Provider SSO Plugin with ServiceNow.

Okta has a number of free apps on the store that I helped build for them.   One of these apps helps automate the process of setting up Okta and ServiceNow for SSO.  I recommend you check it out:  Okta Identity Cloud for ServiceNow

There are a number of other Okta apps on the ServiceNow store that may be helpful in the future.  I recommend you check them out.

The Okta app referenced in this thread is certified for New York, so it should still work.  Again, it just sets up the Single Sign-on records for you in ServiceNow.  Once you have used it to set things up, everything is just standard ServiceNow authentication with Okta.

Since you are looking for good MFA options, you can turn on Okta's MFA and that will be part of your flow when logging into ServiceNow.

John,

Thanks for confirming the capabilities of the Okta apps.
