Virtual Agent Chat window disappears immediately

Dear community,
I have a problem which was already discussed several times here in this forum.
When a virtual agent/live agent conversation is started and the agent accepts the Interaction in the Inbox, the chat immediately disappears. It's visible for ~1 second and then disappears.
I have checked that the agent has the roles:
- agent workspace user
- awa agent
- interaction agent
as discussed in this article.
Also I made sure that the agent is in another browser than the person starting/initiating the chat.
Any other hints/ideas?
Note: it works for another agent on another device, so it is not a "global" problem but only a local one which I want to understand and troubleshoot.
