VPN and the access from external network

Hello everyone,

I have a technical question related to the VPN which I want to make sure of it.

If we set up a VPN connection between the customer’s network and the ServiceNow instance, will this cause the users to not be able to access the instance from outside the network? E.g. Home, Mobile, etc.?

In other words, the user must be on-premises to have access to the ServiceNow instance.

We want to set up the VPN to secure the LDAP integration. But I have a fear of the users will not be able to access the instance from outside the network.

Many thanks in advance.

Hi khaled mostafa gaafar elzayady,

If you are using VPN for LDAP you won't have any issue accessing from the outside world.

it is only restricted when they allow ALL traffic to be routed over a VPN then it would might require a VPN connection on mobile devices as well.

Otherwise, there is no longer a need for VPN if you're using a Single Sign-On solution. You can route LDAP imports through at MID Server  and SSO doesn't require a VPN to be secure.
