How many customers would build custom apps?

Just wondering out of 9k customers using ServiceNow, how many of them would build custom apps and how frequently they would build custom apps?

Wondering to what extent Build agent will be useful/helpful

Since last 15 years, I have dealt with 50+ customers and I dont even remember when was the last time I had seen a customer asking for building a custom app.

What is your experience?

Hi @Suggy

Nice thought.

I worked with some clients who was having many custom apps also other had less. So it depends.

ServiceNow Build Agent is an AI-driven tool that significantly enhances application development by enabling users to generate fully functional, scoped applications through simple natural language prompts. Integrated within the ServiceNow IDE which  streamlines development by handling repetitive and time-intensive tasks.

It  will have following benefits:

  • automates setup of custom app,
  •  speeding up time-to-market
  • reducing backlogs in a fast manner
  • Enables non-pro-coders ,so that  junior developers to build complex applications through conversational prompts
  • Ensures generated content adheres to platform standards and best practices
  •  Automatically fixes errors in its generated code

Hi Suggy,

Speaking as a developer.  In my current job, we have many legacy applications that was build on PHP, Java, Python, etc, you name it, we got it.  Trying to upkeep all these systems and servers and databases is a nightmare.  After getting onboarded with ServiceNow for your ITSM, we started looking into converting our legacy applications to ServiceNow.  This is why we have many custom applications in our instance.  So this is one reason why a business would go the route of custom apps.
