Hi Folks
I am a CRM/CXM/Digital Experience & Transformation Leader - with 16 plus years of implementation expertise in CRM and ERP technologies for multiple clients. My portfolio reflects multiple SAP certifications and a deep understanding of sales, service, and supply chain management solutions and empowering organizations to harness digital platforms and technology to streamline business processes, elevate the customer-centric experience, and improve operational efficiency.
In my capacity as a trusted advisor, I have spearheaded and executed cross-functional projects across teams in the B2B space for - Sales Operations & Customer Service, Marketing, Partner Channel Management, crafting innovative solutions that resonate with customer needs and foster continuous value creation. Enhancing the user experience for internal & customer-facing applications, change management and driving adoption are key motivators for me.
I believe in continuous learning and actively pursue additional training and certifications to enhance proficiency and stay abreast of latest developments in AI/CRM/SCM/CXM trends and advancements critical to Digital Transformation.
I had the opportunity at my last company to be part of the journey to implement ServiceNow CSM/ITSM, as part of a Customer Service and ITSM application overhaul. And based on my past experience, a CSM/FSM route seems ideal. I recently wrapped up the CSA certification as well.
Curious to hear from the gurus and folks who have been on the ServiceNow ecosystem for a while, about the following questions:
- How promising is the Customer Workflow path? Is there enough traction in terms of clients embracing ServiceNow CSM and FSM and does specializing in these areas bode well?
- As I continue to learn while following some of the journeys, as functional consultants and implementers, do you see more value in taking the development path?
- Are there volunteering or returnship opportunities that folks are aware of, that can get someone through the door?
looking for some recommendations to RiseUp through the ecosystem!

Your previous employment seems to be really towards the sales and solution part of platforms and less to the development/implementation.
I guess you need to decide first what it is you want to do. If you are going to specialize on a very small part of the platform (CSM/FSM) you won't be able to really sell the Product that is ServiceNow, but you could really be great for implementation.
Selling the platform just for CSM/FSM can be done, but it's just a small part, as I already said. You can add it to an existing platform, or sell the entire platform, based on current needs but you still need to explain what else it can do. If you aren't able to sell the value of the entire platform, it is difficult to get new clients, because it's not cheap.
Being a specialist on CSM/FSM is a great way to make a name for yourself with a partner/to clients when you are on the implementation track.

I think the best for you is to pick Business Analyst or Change implementation journey in ServiceNow. I can understand that you have / worked on CSM / FSM but that are products of SN and to gain more in SN, you need to choose a path . My experience say you take BA/ Change Path.
