a Group is a record to hold several details - group address, group manager (both optional), but most improtantly group roles.
Example you create a Group 1 and assign an itil role to it, then any user who is added to this group automatically inherits the itil role as well. Group 2 can have for example a role that allows you to use Now Assist capabilites. Etc.
To create a group, it's this table [sys_user_group]
It is a good practice to create groups, assign role(s) to that group and add users to the group. Instead of assigning roles directly to users individually. The maintenance is so much easier on the group level.
