Unable to Launch Lab Instance – "Already Have One Running Lab Instance"

Hi Team,

I am trying to launch a lab instance for my current ServiceNow course, but I am getting this error:

"Unfortunately you already have one running lab instance in another course, please terminate that instance before claiming a lab instance for this course."

I have checked my current course, but I am unable to identify which lab instance is still running or how to terminate it.

Could anyone please help me with the following?

  • How can I find the active lab instance?

  • How do I terminate the existing lab instance?

  • What should I do if the lab instance is stuck or not visible?

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi @SravyaSreeja25

  • You are likely allowed a maximum of 2 running instances across all courses.
  • Terminate Other Instances: Go to your Now Learning Dashboard and terminate any active lab instances for other courses that you are not actively focusing on to free up the slot
  • Once a lab instance is marked as Terminated, it cannot be restored or reactivated. Any data or configurations stored in that instance are no longer accessible.
  • To continue with the course, you’ll need to request a new lab instance and proceed using the newly created environment.

If it is you lab instance in Servicenow University and if you are unable to find in which other 2 course - you already requested lab instance, You can take Now learning support help.

Raise a case to Now Learning support.

Hi @SravyaSreeja25

It looks like you are already doing another training, so please release the current lab instance when you're finished, as that is the best practice.

In this case, you can use the same lab instance that was assigned for your other training. It may currently be in hibernation, but you should be able to resume using it.

To view your list of lab instances, go to the Now Learning Dashboard, where you'll find all your assigned lab instances. If needed, terminate the one you no longer require, then come back here and request a new lab instance.

Hello @SravyaSreeja25 ,

This usually happens when one or more courses lab instance are already active/running , so in that case you just need to terminate that course instance .

First see how many courses are currently active/incomplete , once it identified  just terminate that  course instance .

If this helps you then mark it as helpful and accept as solution.

Regards,

Aditya
