Characteristics based on Custom Table

Hi Everyone, I would like to create  a characteristics based on a custom table or from external system? is that even possible?

You will need to mimic the current OOB usage. There are several tables making use of it, so tying it to the custom table should be technically possible. I never tried it myself, so you will need to check if it's a simple adding of a relationship between the tables, or if you also have to add other logic.

@kserrano Can you elaborate on your requirement please? The source of your characteristics is outside ServiceNow I presume. Is your question about SOM referring to these characteristics while outside the platform or are you asking about creating these in SN tables?

I am looking into both scenarios, exploring the possibility of using custom table for values or via integration outside of ServiceNow for the characteristics.
