Add a new project manager field on Demand and Project form

Hi all, 

I have a business requirement of having a maximum of 2 Project Managers working on a project. I have a "reference" field on the Demand and Project forms called "Project Manager" which lets you select only one PM.

The team tried to change the field type to "List collector" to accommodate more than one PM, however, certain users ran into issues with their reports running on the Project Manager field. We had to revert the changes back and make the field reference only. 

My question is, what is the best way to ensure we have only two PMs? Is it a best practice to create a new reference field called "Secondary Project Manager" or is there any other way apart from list collector we could do this?

Also recently, I added a new PM to the group and the user confirmed that she was able to see all the projects but was not able to update it. Why are certain PMs unable to update the projects? What needs to be done?

HI @mallikabhupathi ,

I believe adding one more reference field would be the right answer for the requirement.

Adding on the role, which role are using for the Project manager group. demand_manager ?
If yes, change it to it_demand_manager.

I agree, it will be better to add another reference field rather updating the out of the box 'Project Manager' field.

As per out of the box behaviour - All the users with it_project_manager will be able to create, delete update projects unless admin has created some BR or ACL. Please check with the admin if there is any rule set to stop the updates for certain users.
