Is there a way to allow ‘overallocation’ for a resource when confirmed in the Resource Finder of Allocation Workbench?
The allocation workbench is very helpful to resource managers to see a clear view of staff and current assigned projects with planned/confirmed/actual time. However, when using the Resource Finder on bottom of screen and selecting resource member and hitting confirmed, it will show error that
. It confirms only the hours that are available for the resource, leaving a gap between requested and confirmed. The RM knows sometimes that the staff member actually can accommodate the requested hours and wants to over-allocate. Is there any way to allow overallocation? It is also very cumbersome to then correct the confirmation of hours.

Hi @Jennifer Stuart ,
The behaviour mentioned in the above post is because resource finder does not allow to over-allocate (or over-confirm) the resource.
I have created a step by step video to show how the resource can be over-allocated (or over-confirmed) from the resource allocation workbench.
Please mark this answer as correct if this is able to solve the query.
Thank You!

Thank you Namita, that is the alternative we have been using. Is there a way to hide the confirm button from the Resource Finder?

Hi @Jennifer Stuart ,
IMO, hiding this option will be a customization. I am not aware of any configurable option to hide this.
Please mark this answer as correct if this is able to solve the query.
Thank You!

Hi Namita
I'm looking for the same functionality, how to use resource allocation workbench to over-allocate or over-confirm resources. Unfortunately, I cannot access the video. Are you are to share the details?
