Assigning Resources at Top Level of Project in Project Workspace

I am using the new Resource Assignment functionality in Project Workspace. On existing (and new projects) I am currently unable to assign any resources at the top level of the project. The field is unavailable to edit (even if I double click), and if I try using the list view on the tab below and click Add Resource, no matter what I add, it doesn't save. Resource Assignments at the Task level work fine. I have an older project in our DEV instance I was able to do this on several months ago. However, if I try it on a new project in the DEV instance or Production, it doesn't work. We are currently running on the latest version of Utah. Any thoughts?

Hi @buzzhundley ,

You can assign the resources to the main project ONLY from the resource pane. Refer screenshot.

For resource assignment on the tasks, you can use the 'Resource assignee' field.

Once you assign using the resource pane, it will start showing up in the planning screen (top section of the planning console of New Project Workspace).

Hope it answers the question. If it does, please mark this as correct answer and help others in quickly finding the response.

Thank You!

hi @Namita Mishra could you please confirm what is the reason why some projects have the Resource plan toogle greyed out and when it is enabled?
Thank you

If you already have some resource plans for your project, then it is not possible to add resource assignments to it. The "Resource plan" pane can not be opened using the slider and the "Resource assignee" field is read-only.
