Hello,
It seems there is no option to allocate budget to sub-projects.
I would like to confirm with the SN product team, if my underestanding is correct that the budget can be allocated on the Parent project, but it's portion cannot be allocated to the sub-projects?
Or are there any settings that can change this behaviour?
Additionally, could you please confirm that on the Strategic Planning workspace, only the parent projects should be visible in the portfolio plan and sub projects will never be displayed?
Thank you

Hello @Alpa82 ,
Thanks for connecting with community.
You are correct - OOTB budget can be allocated to the parent project and not to the sub project.
There is no settings to switch on the budget allocation for sub project.
I am not in front of the instance but I believe you can see both project and sub project on the portfolio plan prioritization. (given they adhere to the portfolio plan criteria). You can test this but I am pretty sure both are available.
If the response is useful please mark it correct to help me and the community members.
Happy SPM Journey!
Thank You!

Hello,
This does not necessarily resolve what you are looking at on how projects are configured in your instance. However, there is an argument that when you have a project with sub-projects what you may really have is a program with projects. Just food for thought.

Thank you very much @Namita Mishra for the confirmation.
Indeed, I can see the sub- project in the prioritization tab but cannot see the same sub-project in the Financials tab.
Is there a way to see all projects, including the sub projects, within the Financials tab or they will be visible only in the prioritization?
Thank you

Hello @Alpa82 ,
Glad that you found the response helpful. Thank You!
Out of the box behavior is to show case the sub projects from SPW - Prioritization, Roadmap, Kanban, Hierarchy as well as from Capacity. Since budget allocation is not allowed for sub project, it won't be available on the SPW -> Financials tab.
IMPORTANT POINT: In case planning items consists of the sub project(s), the Administrator need to set the system property - com.snc.project.rollup.cost - as 'true' in order to get the planning items on the Financials tab. In case this property is set as false and the planning items consist of sub projects then Financials tab would show below message.
Hope this helps!!
Thank You!
