How do you capture lessons learned in the project management module during a project? I do not know if there is a enhancement request for this functionality. Ideally, I would like to see a new Tab created in the project record like there is for Issues or Risks and the tab would be "Lessons Learned" and include the following
- Title/ Short Description Field: Title of the Success or Opportunity, required field
- state/status - Pick list of values defaults to no selection
- 1) Open, 2) Closed, 3) Implemented
- Success or Opportunity Field: Pick list of values defaults to no selection, required field
- 1) Success or 2) Opportunity
- Detailed Description Field: Detailed description of the Success or Opportunity, required field
- What went well and should be repeated or what did not go well and should be avoided
- Category- Pick List Categories Pick list of values, defaults to no selection include
- budget
- quality
- resource
- risk
- schedule
- process
- Scope
- Recommendation (action to be taken) - required field

Hi Jim Hughes,
I understand your need and the solution you describe is good. Lessons learned has the same issues as time reporting - it needs to be done regularly to have an effect. I will suggested to create the schema map for the new table "lessons learned" as it is created for "Risk".
The recommendation for the "Lesson Learned"could be a relation to a project task - to have it as a part of the project with full functionality and/or as a relation to another table - could be a new table "recommendation task" ... I like when it´s not in a "dead text field" but in a "task" where you can reuse the full functionality from the platform.
I would use the relation to the project task if the effort in any way should impact the project.
I would use the relation to "recommendation" task if the Lessons Learned is to be reused.
If you are using CSI - then that might be used as recommendations.
Hope the above helps you - start building the table but design it the right way - get some lessons learned and improve it over time.
Good luck
Brian

is there any update on managing "Lessons Leanred" (LL) of projects in ITBM PPM?
Research underlys company success in project and portfolio management by having strong LL process in place.

Hello @Brian Gadeberg , @Christian Dietr I think usage of the 'Docs' feature in the new project workspace could be an option too as it enable usage of templates and (if reporting is not required to be done on such objects)?
