Customizing lanes for a guided visual task board

Hi,

I am trying to configure the agile visual task board for my team for our sprint planning. The VTB is based on the user story table and by default shows lanes for each state in the user story records.

I am running into 2 problems:

1. Unhiding lanes once you select the 'hide lane' option. There doesn't seem to be anything displayed on the lanes themselves.

2. Making this the default lane setup for the entire team.

Has anyone else run into this sort of thing?

Thanks.

Hi there,

The guided board does not have a "unhide" lanes option. You could have a look at the User Preferences, it's controlled there. The User Preference name would be something like:
vtb.board.bb6eb0ea4f9b9340027400818110c780.hiddenLanes
Where the sys_id is actually your board sys_id.

There's also no option for a default lane setup for an entire team.

Though there might be a workaround...
Editing the User preferences (= tested)!

For example, setup the lanes on the Guided for board like you want. The navigate to the User preferences.
Notice there will be 2 recent User Preferences with your user, something like:
- vtb.board.bb6eb0ea4f9b9340027400818110c780.activeAside
- vtb.board.bb6eb0ea4f9b9340027400818110c780.hiddenLanes

Change these two User preferences. Empty the "User" field, and check the System checkbox.

Look at the User Preferences, if anyone has already changed the lanes for themselfs. So filter on *vtb.board.bb6eb0ea4f9b9340027400818110c780 and remove all of those User preferences, except your two System ones you just changed.

If my answer helped you in any way, please then mark it as helpful.

Kind regards,
Mark

Thanks Mark, it is working for me.

Do you know how to sort the cards in the columns? , when i apply the sorting it works only for me not the rest of the team.
