How to add an additional resource to an already allocated resource plan?

I have a question that was answered in a post from a few years ago, but the link to the answer no longer exists.

 

When a new person is hired, how can that person be added to an existing resource plan that is already allocated?  We've had several new hires for projects that are already in progress and want to add the new people to the existing allocated resource plans.  According to the old post, it is possible for task-based (not operational) resource plans, but the link no longer exists.

In Allocation Workbench, we add more Planned Hours to the existing resource plan for the month(s) we want to add the new hire to.  Then we select them in the Resource Finder and hit the Allocate Button.  The system takes any unassigned Planned hours and assigns them to it.  You can also reduce other users to make hours available for a month.  IT works for us, hope that works for you too.
