Hi All - I never really understood why in SN, a project will auto close if there are projects that are in 'pending' or 'open' status. The current roll up logic just looks to see if there are any tasks left 'in progress' and if not, then it will auto close the project.
This to me never made sense and when we first started using SN, I found a lot of projects were accidentally closed because a build task was marked as 'completed'. So now I'm having my project managers create a dummy project task that is left as 'in progress' until the project finally closes. But a big draw back from this, aside from having to create a dummy task, is that it affects some other roll up behavior, such as % complete.
Is there a way to change the roll up logic so that the project will only auto close if all tasks are either closed complete, closed incomplete or canceled? That seems more logical to me.
Or if that's not possible, what are other ways some of you have gotten around this roll up behavior, or is this not a problem for you?
Thanks in advance!
Gary

Hi Gary
Please see this post Discussion/notes on changing Project 'State' field, notes on Project State field functionality , and the link in the last bullet to another Community discussion. I hope this helps.
