In our SPM workflow, we have multiple gate phases: G0, G1, G2, and G3. Once all approvers have approved a gate, an automated email is triggered. The project also includes a Phase field and a Sanctioned Cost field. Ideally, when the Phase field is updated (e.g., to G2), the Sanctioned Cost should also update simultaneously.
However, we’re facing a timing issue: after all approvers approve the gate, the Phase field takes around 5–7 seconds to reflect the new value (e.g., G2).
During this delay, the email is triggered prematurely, capturing outdated information — such as the previous phase (G0 or G1) and a sanctioned cost of 0. This results in incorrect notifications being sent to stakeholders, which is causing business impact.
We need help resolving this issue to ensure that the email only triggers after the Phase and Sanctioned Cost fields are fully updated with the correct values.
