In the new project workspace, is there a way to set budget by cost type? (labor, hardware, software, etc.)
The servicenow documentation still refers to the old project budget allocation instead of going into the project workspace-->Financials-->budget allocation view-->Double clicking on the budget field to enter a value.
The only level I found you can set budgets for is a top level opex and total capex budget.

@SheltonT Yes it is possible. You need to change the system property - 'sn_invest_pln.budget_allocation_attribute' to 'cost_type'

If using the v2 configuration with migrated budgets and also attribute set to cost type....How can I automatically set the budget based on the cost plans. We use the demand cost plans as the budget. I see reference to Create Demand Budget or Investment budget but this does not give the option to automatically set the budget based on the cost plans. Is this only done on the project workspace financials column action (copy cost as budget)?

Hi @Ned Chamberlain Budget needs to be approved specifically by a user with 'funding' privileges from either the 'budget allocation' view of the record financials page or from the 'scenario planning' capability in SPW. In the financials page of a scenario, when a demand or project is marked 'in-plan', the budget gets populated automatically with the 'forecast' value and when the scenario is approved, budget gets revised as per the changes from the scenario.
