I really wish people shared this stuff more often - so I guess be the change right?

I have been building out Dashboards - Right now they are just reports added to homepages in Development instance, with a left hand side Menu item for the home page. These I don't think will carry over in update sets but they are the most flexible way that I know of to build them on the fly and getting feedback before putting them in CMS which I have only dabbled in. If there is a nice way to build this out, I'm open ears.

There is a lot here - I made a dashboard (Called Console) for the different Demographics - PMO, Proj Mgr, Resource Mgr, Resource, General IT like Service Desk.

PMO Console-Focus on Demand Management, updating and reviewing data for the weekly stakeholder update email, knowing whats hot this month or late.

1. We branded Portfolio Project as Project Coversheets - they will be emailed out to stakeholders.

2. Open Demands, open assessments for the user viewing.

3. Incoming Trend by month by Portfolio as Line chart

4. Projects with planned end date or milestone in the next 30 days.

5. Late Projects - End Date past today

6. Active Projects by Manager

7. Project and Go-Live Milestone Calendar by start date (Wish I knew how to put both on one Calendar)

Tons of (empty) because of Demo Data.

Project Spotlight - A landing page for Service Desk to see whats on tap, immediately impacting them in near future. Likely people who don't have direct hand in Projects or work but want to know whats about to come up.

1. Project End-Date or Milestone +/-1 Week from today

2. Project and Go-Live Milestone Calendar by End Date

My Project Console - Individual Project Manager Focused, whats coming up, what work do I have and what Tasks should be worked on currently by others.

1. Stale Coversheets (They need to update project portfolio weekly for PMO to send stakeholder updates). Project Portfolio where updated is before this week.

2. My Projects as List.

3. Open Project Tasks grouped by parent Project - stacked field is Assigned to - see what resources are involved in my projects.

4. Same data but as list

5. Open Project Issues by Project - Used to track issues and concerns arising during meetings

6. My Upcoming Projects - 3 months out as bar graph

7. Upcoming Project Tasks in Pending, tasks that belong to my projects. - Keep an eye out, make sure these resources are ready to work. Er, a friendly reminder that is.

8. Open Requests for Resources

9. Project Task planned end date Calendar - keep track of those working resources.

Manager Console (Under Resource Management) - Focused on IT dept managers to make resource requests and employee tracking easier. We have to manually manage IT employees "Manager" field to make this work appropriately, My Groups didn't cut it. Mix of watching their staff's hours, what they are working on, whats in the pipe line or being requested and what did the employee forget to fill out/complete in SN.

1. Open Request Resources for my employees [Group Resource = javascript:getMyGroups() or User Resource.Manager = javascript:getMyGroups() and state is Requested or Planning].

I group it by state, because lots of people save as Planning and forget to ever move to requested, we quasi treat both as requested.

2. Open Tasks of My Team's Resources - Looks at all open tasks to your team.

3. My Teams Incomplete Time Cards. Based on Resource Plan table, same Group/user filter as above + Actual Hours is Zero or Empty and End Date before Today.

4. My Teams Upcoming Allocations - Allocations with starting date between today and next week.

5. Resource by Time Card - Last 30 days

5. My Team's Resource Requests by Task Type as Pivot Table

My Project Work Console- Focused on the Resource Worker. What project stuff do I have to work on? What Project Tasks have closed but I forgot to fill out stuff or haven't updated recently?

1. My Open Project Tasks - grouped by the Project

2. Same info but as Bar Chart.

3. Stale Project Tasks - Haven't been updated in a week, planned start date has started but actual isn't, % Complete

4. My Missing Project Task info - State is closed, actual duration is 0 or empty, actual hours is 0.

5. My Approve Resource Allocations

6. My Project Task by Planned Completion Calendar

... you may have no idea how much I hope that when it save, it works....

Toney Vecchio this is very helpful - thank you so much for sharing! My brain isn't ready to start thinking about this yet - perhaps in a month or so, and then I'm sure I'll have a ton of questions and maybe even something to share!

Hi Toney Vecchio - are you using Performance Analytics - Premium for this dashboard?

Nope, these are all basic reporting system. Actually we just turned up Performance Analytics Free just 2 nights ago - really great charts. Though I am new to it, I am questionable about its assumptions on "historical" data and the system behind making a graph is quite intimidating even for someone who has clearly made a report or two already.
