We are using PPM, and when we place a project statue to On Hold, we have to change the tasks status as welll? is that correct behavior? it seems that we are forced to move the project task status revert to "OPEN" in order to save the project record to ON Hold state.
If I place a project on Hold, I would prefer NOT to change any of the task status..
Also, do not want to change task status to OPEN.
What is the expected behavior?

You can still add an "On-Hold" state and have no functionality that changes the task. Whatever was done on your instance has logic tied behind the "On-Hold" status. I would find that logic and turn it off.

Hi Jim,
Again this is something in our instance. We have pending state on project and there is no onhold state on project OOB. You need to check Business rule on both this tables to understand which BR is doing this.
Thanks,
Ashutosh

There is no "On Hold" value for project state? interesting.. what value would be used if the project has started , but was put on hold pending further action or decisions? For example, we have project that were progressing, but were put on hold until further notice due to the at home isolation

Hello Jim,
OOTB theses are the Project States - Pending, Open, Work in Progress, Closed Complete, Closed Incomplete, and Closed Skipped.
I can tell from your other post that there have been some heavy customization done on PPM on your instance. I would ask your development team or look at the development documentation to see what has been done.

I will, but what is the recommendation state for what a project is put on Hold, as none of the OOB value are correct. The project started, it could be started for 3 or more months, and now it is on hold for unknown period of time
