Hi
apologies if this is a stupid question, we're new to ServiceNow PPM.
In the resource management application (Resources) there are 3 drop downs Users/ Groups/Resource Roles
Users and Groups are straight forward - we've created a number of Groups both resolver (for ITSM) and resource groups for resourcing projects and small change.
How does Resource Roles differ from Groups, what should this application be used for. We set up Labor Rates cards, which is working a treat.
I can't understand what Resource Roles does that Groups and Labor Rates Cards doesn't do
Am I missing a trick?
many thanks

Hi Tom,
A terrific learning resource is Servicenow Documents, and more detail for your question can be found in Resource Management. Resource Role allows you to define a set of roles that can be associated to a user. When creating Resource Plans, resource role provides a method to narrow down the search to a role in addition to the group. When creating Resource Plans, after selecting a group, select Member Preference = Any Member and then Resource Role will appear.
