Hi ,
Can someone help me understanding how does recall timesheet/timecard works.
What changes are made and how does it reflect in the timecard.
Thanks in advance!

Hi
Timesheet recall capability allows the timesheet approver to recall an incorrect time sheet (in Approved or Processed state) & return it to the time sheet submitter.
Timesheet recall:
- Impact on State: Changes the state of the time sheet and associated time cards to 'Recalled'.
- Impact on Demand / Project Actual Effort: Reverts the actual effort and resource hours in a project or demand created when time cards that have task types were approved.
- Impact on Expense Lines: Creates negative expense lines to zero out the corresponding expense lines created when the time sheet was approved.
NOTE:
1. Timesheet recall functionality works if 'Allow recall' option is selected in the associated timesheet policy. By default this option is checked.
2. Out of the box, timesheet / time card can be recalled within 30 days. Admin can configure this duration. They can decrease or increase the number of days using 'Recall period allowed (days)' property present in the timesheet policy.
Feel free to mark this as a correct answer if I was able to solve the query.
Thanks,
Namita Mishra

Hi Namita - I'm checking in with our system administrator, to determine if the Timecard_to_Expense_Line table is an OOTB, or if it is a customized table.

Hi Namita - I was able to verify with our system admin that the Timecard_to_Expense_Line table is not an OOTB ServiceNow table. It is only a database view of existing tables (merging Timecard table with Expense Line table). Our earlier question still stands...when Recalling a timecard, it feels like SNOW should create a new timecard record with negative hours. This would be consistent with generating new Expense Line records with negative hours. Because of this inconsistency, we cannot properly align the timecard table's transactions with the expense line table's transactions. Will SNOW consider a change to the way we approach the Recall functionality, to show the negative hours on a timecard that has been Recalled?
Thanks, Dave

Hello!
I have another question about recalling time cards. Once the time card is recalled and the credit issued again the expense line, does the time card user then have to remove the recalled line before re-submitting the time sheet? We are seeing a duplicate expense processed - meaning same expense line but in another month.
Thank you!!!
