CMDB CI to Application Mapping (without Service Mapping)

Hello,

If we have not done Service Mapping or cannot do this across our entire estate for whatever reason but we want to be able to identify which  which CI (Server Host or Database) is used by a Business Application, or vice-versa, where or how can we manually map this?

Many thanks in advance.

Hi,

Maybe:

https://[instance].service-now.com/sys_dictionary_list.do?sysparm_query=reference%3Dcmdb_ci_server%5...

and add the 'Application' to the list view. that will show you the table/fields that reference the two tables. If not, add more details and someone here can assist.

Many thanks for taking the time to reply.

What is Application in this case, is it internal SNOW Applications or modules?   I see values like Global or Agent Assist Recommendation etc.

I am looking for Infrastructure CI (like a UNIX Server or a Windows Server that has been created by Discovery and is in our CMDB) to Business Application (that is also in our CMDB) mapping.

We have various details for the CI like its network adapters, file systems, hardware info but we cannot run Service Mapping to add which Business Application is running on the CI, and want to manually add this..

Hope I am asking the question clearly..
