Hi @vpradhan
The CSA (Certified System Administrator) is a core, foundational credential, while an Associate AI System Administrator is an entry-level career learning path that includes preparing for and earning the CSA alongside introductory artificial intelligence platform training
The Associate AI System Administrator level is designed for those who have typically 0 to 2 years of experience with ServiceNow.
Whereas the CSA is a dedicated certification with a structured learning path, the AI Journey consists of multiple courses designed to help you understand ServiceNow's AI capabilities.
If your goal is to learn about AI, then the AI Journey is a good place to start. However, if your goal is to build a strong ServiceNow foundation and become job-ready quickly, then CSA is the fastest and most recommended path.

Hi @vpradhan
CSA (Certified System Administrator): Focuses strictly on core platform navigation, database management, user security, basic automation, and general system maintenance
Associate AI System Administrator: A broader learning track (part of an AI career path) that covers standard CSA administration fundamentals plus modern AI tools like Now Assist, AI Agents, and AI Control Towers
A standard CSA certification is now considered a baseline requirement, with thousands of applicants already holding it. Adding an AI Administration certification helps you stand out by demonstrating your ability to manage the latest AI-powered capabilities within the ServiceNow platform.
This AI course prepares you to oversee intelligent workflows, AI-driven automation, and virtual agents rather than focusing solely on traditional manual processes and system tables.
It also positions you ahead of the curve for advanced professional and expert-level certifications in ServiceNow's AI-focused career paths, giving you a competitive advantage as organizations increasingly adopt AI-powered solutions.
