Hi my Friend!
To clear the CSA exam on the first attempt, keep it simple and focused:
Key tips that work
Stick to the CSA blueprint – don’t over-study advanced scripting or integrations.
Hands-on practice in a PDI is critical. Know where things live in the platform, not just definitions.
Focus heavily on:
Tables & dictionary
Forms, lists, and filters
Roles, ACLs, and users
Basic Flow Designer
Update Sets
Understand OOTB behavior (what ServiceNow does by default vs customization).
Read every question carefully — many are scenario-based with one best answer.
Eliminate wrong answers first; CSA questions often test fundamentals, not tricks.
Take at least 1–2 full practice exams and review why answers are wrong.
Exam mindset
If an option sounds complex or heavily customized, it’s usually not the CSA answer.
Trust platform defaults and best practices.
If you’re comfortable navigating the UI and explaining why things work the way they do, you’re ready my friend!

Hi @rawatparth2 ,
I recently cleared my CSA exam, and from my experience, having good hands‑on practice on your PDI really makes a big difference. When you’re familiar with the platform and configurations, many questions become easier to understand.
Also, keep in mind that some questions in the exam are framed in a slightly confusing way, and the options may look very similar. So it really helps if you’re clear on the fundamentals — that way, you won’t get stuck between close‑looking answers.

Hope this helps!
Best Regards,
Anjal

Hi @rawatparth2
I am a ServiceNow trainer and happy to share tips for the CSA Exam (Certified System Administrator)
CSA is the first and foundational exam in your ServiceNow journey. Here are some tips to help you prepare effectively:
-
Study the training material thoroughly – Go through it line by line, word by word, at least 2–3 times.
-
Practice the labs multiple times – Do each lab 3–4 times. Don’t just complete them; carefully read and understand the instructions as well.
-
Follow the official eBook – Review it thoroughly at least 2–3 times to reinforce your understanding.
-
Consider supplementary courses – Some candidates have found Udemy courses helpful for additional practice and clarity.
-
Watch my experience video – I’ve shared my own preparation journey and tips here:

Good luck on your CSA journey!
