Hi @UmesH77

As you might know, there is no support available from ServiceNow in relation to PDIs, hence you're limited to two options:

  1. Wait, it should automatically come online again after some time
  2. If you get tired of waiting, release you instance and request a fresh installation. Notice, all development work that hasn't been backed up will be lost for good.

If my answer has helped with your question, please mark my answer as the accepted solution and give a thumbs up.

Hi @UmesH77 ,

  1. Support is not available for PDIs, as they are provided for personal development and practice/learning purposes only.

  2. If you're not in a hurry, it might be best to wait and see if the issue resolves on its own.

  3. You can choose to release your current instance and request a new one, but please note that this will result in the loss of all your existing data.

To avoid data loss in the future, it's a good practice to regularly back up your PDI, either through source control or through Update sets.

Please mark my answer as helpful/correct if it resolves your query.

Hi @UmesH77 ,

Here are some points to consider:

1. There is no support available for PDI.

2. If you can wait, more, let's wait

3. You may release this instance and take a new one but in this case, you will lose your previous data.

From going forward, try to take regular backup of PDI, to avoid any loss of update set in future.

Hi @UmesH77

Here are some points to consider:

  1. There is no support available for PDI.
  2. If you can wait, let's wait a bit longer.
  3. You can release this instance and start a new one, but you will lose your previous data. To avoid losing update sets in the future, make sure to take regular backups of your PDI.

There have been 3-4 posts in the community today about PDI failures or unavailability. Based on the responses, you might need to wait 1-2 days and hopefully, the PDI will be back online.

Hello @UmesH77 ,

I've come across similar situations before where the instance doesn't wake up even after hitting the refresh button — totally understand how annoying that can be, especially when you're trying to get something done urgently.

Here are a few things you can try:

🔹 Sometimes, it takes a bit of time to respond. Try refreshing again after a few hours — in a few cases, it does come back on its own.

🔹 If it still doesn’t wake up after some time, head to the ServiceNow Developer Portal and try releasing the instance and requesting a new one. Just make sure you’ve saved your important work if possible.

🔹 Going forward, it’s always a good idea to export your work using update sets or connect with source control, just in case the instance goes into hibernation or gets reclaimed.

You can also refer to this official PDI FAQ page for details on how the platform handles PDIs.

Hope it gets sorted soon — let us know how it goes!

🔹 Please mark Correct if this solves your query, and 👍 Helpful if you found the response valuable.
