Knowledge subscription notifications

hi I was evaluating the idea of turning on article notifications subscriptions in our instance but I notice that it seems anyone who ever has revised the article in the past becomes automatically subscribed to the article?  Is this how it should work?

Yes. When you have contributed to the article, you are subscribed to it, so you know about any changes done to it.
