Hello All,
I am playing around with Order Guide sequencing in my developer instance to see if this will work for something we are trying to implement in our environment. The video on the plugin seems very straight forward, but I'm not getting the expected result and was hoping someone might be able to tell me why.
In my developer instance I've enabled the plugin. In the out of box order guide called "New Hire", I created a sequencing process called "New Hire process" and it is tied to the order guide.
In the Process Automation Designer, Lane 1 is set to start immediately and does not have a run condition. Lane 2 on the other hand is configured to start after the previous lane. Also no run condition.
Unless I'm missing something, the tasks in lane 2 shouldn't start until the tasks in lane 1 are completed. However, when I submit the order guide, all of the requests are generated and instead of being in the "Not Started" stage, they either start to create tasks or approval records and are not respecting the sequence.
Does anyone have any experience with this and what I might be doing wrong?
I also saw that I could add a wait condition to lane 1, and maybe that would help, but two things about that; I don't believe I should need that condition based on the videos description of how this works. Also, I haven't quite figured out how to configure the wait condition yet so I'm still playing with that to see if it's a valid option (assuming there isn't something else I'm missing related to the lane conditions).
I appreciate any assistance you can offer!

Hi @Casey23 , did you ever figure this out? I am attempting the same sequential flow in my PDI and lane 2 doesn't start after lane 1 completes. Whenever I submit the order guide, all the items are generated.

Unfortunately no. This was an attempt to rework our onboarding process a bit, but we ended up having to move it to the back burner for other things taking priority, and I haven't gone back to it yet.
