Import and Data Model Question

I have several pieces of equipment that I am importing and they are not following the prescribed methodologies.

  • A rack mount equipment holder that has two slots for small Accedian devices.  I would have expected that you would make that a shelf/equipment holder and it would have a slot that can be populated and a relationship built.  This did not in fact work.  It appears that a network equipment holder cannot have a relationship to a slot.  Any thoughts on the proper usage?
  • An Accedian AWG-40 is similar in that I would have expected it to be a network equipment holder with interfaces.  It didn't quite deploy as I would have expected.
  • I am finding that an SFP slot is not always a "subslot".  If the SFP slot is in a card, then it is a subslot, if it is in a piece of equipment, it is a slot.  Would you expect that result?  I didn't.

Looking for some guidance from those with experience with those types of equipment.

I believe your AWG-40 should be modelled as a Network Interface Device that would be within an Accedian equipment holder. You could then add the slots to the AWG-40.
